Tom's Coming Out...Of Retirement! Part 1
Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at 4:01PM Tom Ring, Brown Daub Kia Owner and Commercial Celebrity, Comes Out of Retirement Following Health Scare
Tom Ring, the colorful co-owner of Brown Daub Kia has come out of retirement to resume his position at his well-known Easton, PA dealership. Ring, 42, made his announcement this week following significant improvements to a health condition that prompted his early retirement last June.
Easton, PA- While he may be known for his outrageous marketing antics and catchy stunts, co-owner of Brown Daub Kia and Commercial Celebrity, Tom Ring's decision to come out of retirement is no joke.
Ring, 42, re-emerged as head of the company this week, looking noticeably thinner and siting improvements to a health condition that contributed to his early retirement last June.
According to Ring, he's excited to be back and felt retirement was never a good fit for him in the first place.
"My health had to come first. No question about that. But I missed my other family, I love being creative and I missed having a platform to help people and charities that are doing great things," says Ring. "Plus, there aren't too many other 42-year-old retirees hanging around, and the AARP won't take me until I'm 50, so for my sanity, I figured I'd stick it out a few more years," he adds.
Ring has promised to maintain a balanced schedule and to keep his health a priority as he beings resuming more activities at his Easton, PA store. He will also be using this opportunity to teach others how to build successful businesses, starting with younger family members and associates that have expressed a deeper interest in the car business and becoming entrepreneurs.
"It's been a long 5 months, but I'm back, better and crazier than ever," says Ring. "I truly believe that everyone deserves a nicer, newer car and I'm thrilled to have another opportunity to make that happen for people in our community."
